Assessmentverfahren im Therapieprozess – Analyse angewandter fachbezogener Messinstrumente
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project with the title „Assessments in the process of therapy – analysis of related measuring instruments” will deal with specific measuring methods. The participants from the field of physical therapy and occupational therapy have already looked into those methods during their educational contents and practical experiences. Often, measuring techniques haven’t been reviewed critically with regards to quality requirements, such as validity, reliability and objectivity. More often therapeutic methods are being realized but are not always effective. At this point the project begins. The familiar measuring instruments are being compared and analyzed with the ones of the partner country. It needs to be questioned to what extend the worldwide recommendations of the WHO is being realized within Europe and being used in the therapeutic process. We would like to record specific measuring instruments, integrate them into the process of educational training and later on into the professional practice. The Johannesbad Akademie assists the verification of classification of educational training of physical and occupational therapy of level 4 within the German Qualifications Framework (Deutscher Qualifikationsrahmen – DQR). This is a direct relation to the basic concept of Erasmus+. An insight of the developments of education and profession in Europe is useful to evaluate the current status in Germany. Progress in the quality of education can be achieved. With the results of the project we get additional arguments for the classification of the education in a higher level (level 5) of the German Qualifications Framework. Further results are national improvements for more quality control. 28 students of physical therapy and occupational therapy will participate in the project. They are in the second or third year of vocational training. They have a solid knowledge of educational contents and several work experiences. The participants are being introduced to the project by our mentors. In preparation to the stay abroad the students will present the project to their classmates. 12 students visit the Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences for 3 months. During their stay they attend university lectures and seminars that include presentations and discussions followed by practical placements. Experienced therapists instruct the participants, show them their area of responsibility and support them with the treatment of patients. The results will be discussed and evaluated during and after the stay with the mentors of the Johannesbad Akademie. 16 students of occupational therapy will be sent to the Artevelde University in Ghent for two weeks. Every year in September eight of our students participate for one week in the international workshops “Course on the use of creativity and Occupational Therapy”. During the second week the students can follow lectures and seminars of the occupational program at the Artevelde University. In addition they visit different practical placements of the occupational therapy. There they get to know experienced therapists and work on the project. The mentors of the Johannesbad Akademie support the participants before, during and after their stay. Social and professional competences of our participants will be strengthened and self-learning as well as learning-on-the-job will be supported. The results will be academically evaluated, tested on their practicality, and integrated into the educational contents. Changes in known and new measuring instruments can be achieved by academic publications on a regional and global level. The exchange of experiences between the partner countries allows a global impact. In the long term we hope to implement the new and analyzed measuring instruments into the German professional practice. Before departure a learning agreement will be fixed with the participants. After their stay they will recieve the Europass-mobility. The results of the project will show on their school report. If the application is successful we will sign an agreement with our partners (e.g. Memorandum of Understanding).
