During the eleven days of the exchange, 45 participants from 6 European countries aged between 15 and 24 years and from various social contexts, will find themselves in Cascais, Portugal, to work sensitive issues for society felt in so many places in the world.
Will address in the first instance the issue of social exclusion / inclusion, particularly with regard to the problems / issues experienced in social neighborhoods: language barriers, immigration, discrimination, prejudice, poverty and miscegenation.
Some aspects about society will be adressed (stereotypes, discrimination and the lack in offering equal opportunities for all) and, on the other hand, with the individual or group (alienation, rebellion, forming groups, disbelief in the system and the disbelief in himself).
These issues will be addressed through sharing between the group and through dance, drama / role play and circus arts bearing in mind the non-formal education as peer learning tool.
Youngsters will later form intercultural groups that will work on different expressions of the three arts presented. Therefore, will develop workshops and performances with people from vulnerable communities. Will thus be confronted with their stereotypes, providing an experience and intercultural learning.
This project has a strong impact and collaboration with the community: in an event planned by the participants, they will learn how to create and develop several artistic workshops with children and vulnerable young people by offering them various skills while we motivate the participants to think about their role in the community in which they operate and take responsibilities as citizens.
It is mainly intended to contribute to break some of the stereotypes and prejudices towards people from social neighborhoods and also provide tools for participants in working with marginalized young people.
