Art Studio of Diversity: Volunteers united by Art
Start date: Dec 1, 2011,
We strongly believe that Civil Society plays an essential role in promoting volunteering and active participation in general. A lot of young people make great contribution to their communities, investing their free time in different associations, youth clubs, etc. Involvement in voluntary activities can support youngsters in the development of new skills and competences, useful for their personal and professional life. The aim of this seven days long youth exchange is to raise awareness about the importance of Volunteering and to support the development of civil society organizations in the three Neighbouring Partner Countries from EECA (Armenia, Georgia, Russia), as well as provide the participants from three Programme Countries (Italy, Poland, Romania) with insights on the situation of youth work in European Neighbourhood Policy countries. During 7 days, the 36 participants (5 participants and one leader per country), active and motivated young people from 6 countries, will have the chance to interact with youth from different cultural backgrounds in Tsakhkadzor in Armenia, participating together in three distinct workshops, namely arts, crafts and photography. Also in a multicultural, safe environment they will exchange views and ideas on topics such as volunteering, civil society and its role in the democratization process, nowadays a crucial issue for the community in Armenia. At the end, we will spread the outcomes of the whole exchange by holding a small campaign and an exhibition-sale, promoting the concepts of volunteering and participation of young people in the center of the capital city Yerevan.
