PROJECT
FINISHED
The aim of the project was to establish a BSR-wide wind energy association with a secretariat and national contact points, co operation groups, permanently growing contacts, integration into BSR panels, to start and continue of wind energy internet-platform for information and as a tool for over-regional BSR-wide telematik co operation and for awareness raising, as well as to develop the wind energy courses for future specialist and a concept of a BSR-wind energy fair. Achievements: The project was successful in establishing of a network of wind-energy partners from authorities, universities, research institutions and wind energy business in most of the Baltic Sea countries. Development and implementation of a project website as a basis for the public work of the project team was another example of success story: the installation of an intranet as a tool for over regional co-operation within the project team constitutes the basis for telematic working.A number of studies on spatial planning regarding wind energy, analysing the situation in the participating countries as basis for a Europe-wide scenario as a recommendation for standards to be set has been elaborated. Publications and reports as a result of the project work are available on the continued website, like the first version of the Guideline for the purchase and installation of second hand turbine as an investment chance for Wind-energy-starter-Countries, study Assessment of the Optimized Use of Windfarm potential or the wind energy case-study in Satakuntaa, Finland with several sub-studies on planning and economy, providing support to the development of the future wind farms in this territory.Three Online-Courses on wind energy for the training of future wind-energy-specialists were prepared: one available in various languages, one successfully carried out with international participants, one has passed the testing-period shortly before the project end.
