ARPI - Risk Activities and Institutional Pedagogy: - A Social and Pedagogic Intervention Model with children and youngsters at social risk.

The current concerns in Europe with the increase of aggressive acts committed by young people, whether on the streets or in schools, and in Protection institutions where they may be placed, and the insufficient results arising from technical intervention, undermine the methodologies used so far and the technicians’ competence, on which relies their motivation.ARPI proposes an innovative methodology prepared to technicians from different areas of social, educational and mental health institutions and agencies from FR, ES, DE, IT, adapting their lines of action to concrete situations on each country and region. This methodology, allows to transfer situation from activities to concrete problems of everyday life.ARPI allows an increased training for feminine professionals, representing an surplus value to their work and professional recognition, as their participation in the activities show a statement not based on physical strength but on the ability of self-confrontation and self emotional control before difficulties presented and transferred to real life issues. What is innovative in the ARPI project?1 - The combined use of physical activities with others of psycho-social intervention in the modeling of social behavior; 2- The internalization of emotional and self-control techniques being drawn from the events identified in physical activities;3- The consolidation of emotional self control techniques obtained through their own reproduction, made by individuals during actual practice, and along with other group members; 4- The opportunity for 'incidents' occurring in practice, being exploited for a specific reflection/debate, made afterwards, allowing, through metaphors, analogies between the most appropriate responses experienced in the activities and real life situations and problems;5- The consolidation of social and personal skills being accomplished through the preparations of material ‘products’ (photos and texts), which allows a systematic analysis on changes occurred in each individual’s behavior (wall papers, blog, website with products obtained from the activities);6 - The elaboration of a Personalized Progress Plan being the result of active participation of each individual, and of its ability to identify their own skills, namely by taking advantage of the existing resources, individually and in the community.General description of tangible and intangible results- Adoption of a common ground methodology;- Guide development in 6 languages (EN, FR, ES, DE, IT, PT);- Decentralized Training Sessions, at least 10 technicians;- 20 to 40 cases analyzed (youngsters monitored in each country). - Dissemination on 6 national institutions networks - Acquisition of complementary skills by technicians, needed to carry out their functions (ability to reflect in a multidisciplinary way, reorganize monitoring processes and redefine their roles), which will bring improved services and better professional integration
