PROJECT
FINISHED
The project is a continuation of former Leonardo project and partnership and the need of developing a mutual validation platform for education within the green sector based on ECVET-units. In accordance with the European development plan for the schools the objective is to develop the schools international exchange programs further and formalize the reviews students receive after they finish their work placement. The project shall favor students learning development and also give impulses to new innovative thinking and entrepreneurship in a future perspective and give impulses to new way of work methods, new crops and so on. The project is also meant to support the individual students language development and cultural and social learning. This part of the project will be evaluated by using in depth interviews and analyzed by grounded theory.
With the learning agreements and the developing of ECVET-units we expect an increased quality of the work placements. With the strong partnership with the receiving countries that we have established through the years we expect to fulfill our need of developing a systematic development assurance exchange program for validating learning processes in work placements abroad. We are also planning in using surveys to evaluate the work practice, the receiving school and how the students experienced his visit.
We are planning on sending 23 students of a total of 95 days to 5 different countries. The students will all go to work places that also are used as work places for the receiving school's students. The work places are all within the green sector and within the specialization that the student has chosen as it's major.
The teachers (13 people) in the project will use teacher shadowing and work shops for their work to develop a common understanding and base structure for ECVET-units. There will be in depth interviews performed by the principal and project leader about validation. These will also be analyzed using eg grounded theory.
The project will be disseminated by students participating in different events and the schools Open House. There will also be articles in our Customer Magazine that is delivered to work places in the West of Sweden, entrepreneurs, NGOs and other organizations with special interest in the green sector.
In the long run the project will hopefully lead to more knowledge in how to validate students learning, it will also inspire students and give input to the green sector with new innovative ideas in food security, bioenergy and rural development. Through a strategic and long-term development effort of internationalizing there is a possibility for increased recruitment of students into an industry where there is a shortage of skilled labor.
