PROJECT CONTEXT
Such project is built on a needs research based on the Schools Educational Projects and on External Evaluation , both pointing towards the major frailty on didactic and pedagogical levels from those teachers who lecture on the Montijo Prison Facility , on wich the school holds a Cooperation Protocol regarding EFA courses on recluse population. Alongside such fact, the national frame for training offer (either on initial training neither on continuous training) does not stands according the identified needs whatsoever.
PROJECT´S GENERAL TARGET
- Provide knowledge and specific pedagogic skills on teachers, who, now or in the future may come to teach on the prison facility, allowing them to develop a quality work and gain results among the recluse students.
- SPECIFIC TARGETS
1- To know and practice pedagogic technics and methods regarding prison teaching
2 – To provide analysis and know-how on European successful practices towards such issue
3 – To share and foresee such know-how, skills and practices at school life
4 – To propose and put in action credited trainings regarding the continuity of the learned processes during the project
PARTICIPANTS NUMBER AND PROFILE
The mobility activity participants shall be 12 comprising the School Director or Board Member; Teacher’s Training Center Director; one department coordinator, one European Projects Coordinator; seven Prison Facility lecturing teachers
ACTIVITIES DESCRIPTION
- International mobility activities will be on the shape of Training Course, along with study visits to the ground regarding experienced prison teaching entities
- Post-mobility , there will be, at the school , on tachers training center and at the local and regional learning community, several training activities, credited by the Teachers Continuous Training Scientific Council
PROJECT´S METHODOLOGY
The methodology to follow shall be:
- Training abroad mobility’s
- Diffusion and implementation periods on good European practices acquired, at the School
- Diffusion moments on a local, regional and international level
- Periods of evaluation
PROJECT IMPACT AND ITS RESULTS DESCRIPTION
The impact shall be visible through the reduction of school dropping on recluse students. It will be obtained by the acquisition of good European practices and innovative, creative, motivational pedagogical methods who promote teaching quality and student success on a targeted public with such peculiar profile
- Internalization Promotion of the School throughout different European realities and acceptance towards the “difference”, also throughout foreign languages perfecting and yet the intercultural relations development who will contribute the European dimension of the whole schools group organization.
LONG THERM BENEFICTS
- School Board Teachers (who teach or will potentially teach on Prison Facility) awareness
- Escola Secundária Jorge Peixinho´s projection as a European institution on a regional, national and international level
- Success promotion and therefore the ensue of studies on recluse population and its following contribution in order to become an integrated society and job market member
- Contact establishment and friendly international relationships whom can facilitate future European projects
