Search for European Projects

Apprenants et personnels, au coeur d'une Europe à découvrir !
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Among the 7 pillars of the Haute-Follis vocational school’s project, 4 fit perfectly into the Erasmus + Programme: “lead successful studies”, “go hand-in-hand with the professional world”, “complete projects successfully” and “broaden towards an international dimension. In order to successfully fulfill these requirements, over the last 4 years, our school has been organising European projects for our students in their final school year and it also broadens this opportunity with a staff mobility programme and a training project intended for one of our specific sections. 5 of our students from the Administration and Management section carried out a 3-week work-placement in Italy this year; as we have successfully put in place in previous years. We were unable to renew the German mobility programme as our students did not attain the linguistic standard requested by our partner. During their time abroad, the students will be assisted in settling into a flat, starting their first days at work and organising their final assessment by the staff of their school. This assessment will have different aspects: reports in French and English, compulsory assessment grids for the national diploma, optional mobility test and extra tests for the European option of the national exam. The students will live alone for the majority of their placement abroad but they will be watched over by our local partners: the Istituto Scalcerle, in Padua, and their mentors at work. Through this mobility, the students gained extra professional skills, became more self-reliant and self-confident, gained in competence in a foreign language and were able to reflect on their future studies. Discovering European History and European Culture aided our students to more fully appreciate their European citizenship. They also benefited from extra Language classes in Italian and also professional classes in English. 7 members of staff from the Social and Health Care branch took part in an exchange with a Danish vocational school specialising in the same field. They will visited organisations related to Elderly and Child Care. This will enhance their intercultural and professional awareness in the field of Health and Social Care and involve them in innovative educational and training projects. This will also be an incentive for the upcoming class of 2016/2017. The European project will cement our courses even more into a professional context by fulfilling the demands of the professional sector (adaptability and mobility) and strengthen the professional courses. Thanks to our communication about the project, both within and outside the College, the results will be more understandable and the teaching staff will gain in legitimacy when encouraging the students to participate. In the near future we hope that this project will be embraced by all the sections of the school and that it will build on the school’s reputation of quality teaching via our innovative projects and a physical and intellectual mobility.
