F:Project summaryTelemark county has started an initiative aiming to improve our students results in mathematics. Each school has nominated central resource persons who are primary responsible for this initiative in their respective schools. This project shall contribute to a renewal of both pedagogy and didactics at each school but also for the other secondary schools I Telemark.All mobilities must be sees I conjunction with the main project encompassing all schools to ensure we do not get too many attending the same courses. Our aim is to ensure a broadness in our mobilities giving experiences and knowledge that can be shared amongst all mathematics teachers.We have planned two types of mobilities for this two year project:1. To participate in courses/seminars relevant to our initiative. A total of 22 teachers will be participating in these mobilities. These are teachers appointed by their school management as key persons in the further development of education in mathematics. The goal is to strengthen the education in order to reducing dropouts and improve our students’ results. These mobilities are planned in Germany, United Kingdom and Finland.2. Job shadowing is planned in Sweden, Finland, Germany and United Kingdom focusing on math education competences, methodologies and new techniques. A total of 15 teachers will participate in jobshadowing in relevant educational organizations. This will be teachers from all of our 11 secondary schools.In addition this project will motivate for more engagement in international programmes.For all participants it is mandatory to describe the mobility, own educational benefit and relevance and how this can be shared with colleagues at the local school and in other schools. They must also describe how this can be incorporated in how the schools teach mathematics.All mobilities must have:- Central coordination from the main project covering all schools- Organizational preparations regarding planning both mobility content and stay- Europass or other proof of participation- Evaluation of mobility with reportThe mobilities will give usIn short terms:- Skills development for teachers- Improvement of mathematics education- Better knowledge of how to use international programmesIn long terms- Develop contacts (partner network) in relevant countries which can be candidates for future international projects focusing on exchange of both experiences, knowledge and methodologies.- Better results in mathematics for our students- Increased general teaching skills- Knowledge of corresponding teaching in other countriesThis project is important in supporting the intentions in Telemark countys’ engagement in improving education in mathematics, but also the intentions in our international strategy for education.
