The project is for 2 volunteers for a period of 1 year on the territory of the Community of Communes des Collines du Léman , near Thonon les Bains ( Haute- Savoie ) and Lake Geneva . This includes 7 small rural communities or peri -urban areas ( about 11 000) . FOL , has an agreement with the community , manages the Social Service of General Interest responsible actions towards children and youth in this area: a home leisure without accommodation (4-11 years) that works Wednesdays and holidays school , outings on Saturdays and holidays during the holidays for adolescents, prevention and education with schools, the organization of cultural and sporting events towards the public ... Premises, provided by the city of Allinges are located in a former colony , " Aerospace " with a 4-hectare park with a pond and a teaching garden, a camp equipped with teepees , a small forest, a sports field grass, a small park where we welcome lamas summer ... volunteers will be accommodated on the site in a specially provided for this purpose in the old infirmary of the colony apartment with all amenities necessary . Volunteers come support the work of the permanent team (4 employees) on the development of an educational center around the environment , sustainable development and citizenship with the public child and youth. This educational will before also , hopefully , be recovered by obtaining the label CED (Citizenship Environment and Sustainable Development ) . This educational work will mainly be done in two areas: 1 / on receptions (children and adolescents) in the center of the Aerospace team and volunteers will build on the learning spaces built especially by previous voluntary : pond, vegetable garden ... but also new tools create public awareness on these issues. 2 / the extracurricular time will experience a new development in 2014 with the reform of school rhythms, accompanied the team volunteers will be responsible for establishing educational and fun workshops in schools around these themes. The action will be just as EVS to develop , maintain outdoor spaces , treat animals (rabbits , llamas ... ) ... that lead groups of children with the rest of the team (employees and volunteers). They also have the opportunity to spend the degree of BAFA . Hosting volunteers enable us to open the debate on the theme of sustainable development to other territories in Europe, to have a more comprehensive understanding of the issues , enhance cultural exchange.
