One of the ongoing problems that challenges the border area of Serbia and Hungary is the problem of effective monitoring and protection of health of domestic and wild animals. This kind of challenges doesn't know for the interstate borders, its negative consequences can be felt equally in both border regions, the establishment of cross-border cooperation is imposed as a necessity. The overall aim is to improve the system for monitoring and protection of animal health. Establishment of continuing cross-border cooperation among relevant institutions, raising the technical capacity of competent services.Distribution of educational brochures and by creation of Internet portal, individual farmers will be educated and informed on effective protection of animal health. Also, by procurement of technical equipment for zoo hygiene services in Kikinda and Makó, treatment of stray dogs and cats, as well as animal waste disposal system will be upgraded. Achievements: Animal waste disposal system has been developed on both side of the border (Makó and Kikinda), reconstruction of animal waste treatment service building and purchase of relevant equipment.
