Anima - Pedagogy Against NEET
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: May 31, 2017 PROJECT  FINISHED

The phenomenon of NEETs (No Employment, No Education, No Training), young people who are unemployed, not integrated in the educational system of their country and not receiving education or training is a reality that affects millions of young Europeans. Most of these young people have completed their compulsory schooling, are not able to find jobs and do not plan to continue their training, specialized or otherwise. These are young victims and protagonists of a setback in their personal and human growth. This is a rather new phenomenon in the social work with youths. There is no consolidated practices regarding NEET youths that serves as the model to be followed by Youth Workers. Having the Life Review method as a primary method, the youth workers will have to work over a fiction NEET life story using several methods/solutions. The framework of this project aims to be a direct representation of the partners reality. This is why, in the preparation for this mobility the patterns will promote their local chapter of the Local Animas (local meetings) in which the fictional life stories will be consolidated and adapted to be an example of each partners environment. This project aims to capacitate Youth workers in matters of NEET Youth in context of non-formal education in order to reintegrate them in to active society, either by getting a job or reintegrate them in the education system. To do so, this project will focus in exploring and using four methods/approaches: Group symbology, Team Building, Theatre of the Oppressed and Learning by doing. These methodological dynamics allow Youth workers to acquire skills that, in the work with NEET Youth would allow them to draw a future plan of action, in direct involvement with their environment, community and labor market against the backdrop of Europe and opportunities created by EU programs, including the Erasmus + Program.
