The AnDE project aims to promote the employment of persons with physical disabilities by developing a training module for students of business administration, as well as a handbook for employers, on how to adapt the work environment. Following a review of legislation and practice in participating European countries, project partners will develop and test a student module and a one-day course for employers. Module contents will include legislation, co-operation with training, guidance and employment services, workplace adaptation and the overcoming of psycho-social barriers. End products will include the student module and training methodology in addition to a handbook for employers, to be made available on-line and on CD-Rom, in all relevant partner languages. The project partners, mainly training providers, will integrate the newly developed tools into existing training courses/programmes. Through seminars, conferences, mailings and on-line information, dissemination will address a broad network of national and European vocational training bodies, social partner organisations, disability groups and national policy makers. The promoter will also seek government support to assess the outcomes two years after the project ends and thus expects to take the development further.
