Amène ton grain! Jardins participatifs et société civile en Europe / Plant your seeds! Community gardens and civil society in Europe

This exchange, designed to bring together persons involved in community gardens in Europe is at a time a training about the organization of collective gardens and an intercultural exchange between civil society in four countries: France, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Germany and Italy. The projects aims to train and encourage the persons participating in community projects in their city who are also multiplicators seeking to encourage the participation of young people in their projects. For the 24 participants who are mostly persons having less opportunities of mobility, this project is the opportunity to travel abroad and to discover other countries, cultures and languages.
During one week, the group will exchange about their difficulties, best practices and experiences concering their gardening projects, take part in workshops of gardening or construction, discuss questions of how to manage community projects and work together in the community garden hosting the group in Marseille. The team will accompany the project with inputs and workshops on the topic, intercultural methods and language animations. These methods facilitate the encounter of the participants and are a playful way to learn or practice foreign languages.
This project aims to promote cultural exchange, to train youth workers in order to enable them to better imply youngsters in their community projects, to sensitize people on environmental questions and food-production and improve by the multiplier effect the health and well-being of young people. The meeting will create bonds between the actors of the four countries and their collective gardens and may lead to new projects in the future, as for example youth exchanges.
The networking and training of youth workers involved in participative projects enables in the long run to strengthen civil society and youth pariticpation in Europe.
