Amazing Tolerance Race
Start date: May 4, 2015, End date: Mar 3, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Youth Services of the city of Espoo and NGO PRISMS Malta has organised a youth exchange in Malta during 10.8.-17.8.2015. A total of 38 participants attended. From Finland there were 15 young people and three leaders and from Malta there were 17 young people and 3 leaders who took part in the youth exchange project. APV was 30th of June - 2nd of July 2015 in Malta and present was a contact person from both organisations. The theme of this youth exchange was really current at the moment: Tolerance, to understand diversity and prevent discrimination. The objectives of this project were to promote equality and prevent discrimination, to become aware of the equality and diversity of our societies, to tackle and think solutions to problems of intolerance and inequality in our countries and communities and learn skills to work with different people. The themes were handled by many different aspects like disability, ethnic backgrounds, generation and sexuality. We used many kinds of learning methods from discussions to treasure hunt and volunteer work. During the youth exchange young people mixed in with local people. They interviewed Maltese people on streets, volunteered in elders house and met parents of Maltese youngsters. We held a blog for our exchange, where we posted pictures and feelings from our youth exchange. http://nuoriespoovaihtaa.blogspot.fi/
