The project "Alternatives for a Leisure time" was focused on the transition from the formal to the non-formal and the informal learning. The desire to meet the needs of young people in communication and sharing of their aspirations, to express themselves in areas where they are strong and capable, of interests and desire it to be fun and enjoyable, with the project we set a goals: to provide additional sources of education and training, and to stimulate the creation of new ones. We’ve started with the interests of today's young people to communicate and share their lives through computer applications, with them we shaped a space on the Internet to share resources: for education, and for personal and social development. Activities: 1/ Eighth-day youth exchange where young people discussed how they use computers to meaningful leisure time and develop their key competences; 2/ Long-term (11 month) volunteer service of 4 youth that will help in activities for personal and educational development of young people in Sofia, by getting involved in there initiations for leisure time; 3/ Four-day contact seminar: sharing educational tools and development of strategic partnerships with synergies between education and personal development of young people (and not only) . Our methodology is based on the principles of good and transparent governance, participation of all partners in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of activities, using tools of non-formal and informal education and self-evaluation of performance. Number and profile of participants: 1/ Youth exchange: 35 youths (+12 leaders), aged 13-17 years; interested in at least one of the fields: literature, painting, photography, film making, digital arts and technology; 2/ EVS: 4 youth, aged 18 to 29 years old; living in small settlements; unemployed for the past four months and with an interest in at least one of the fields: literature, painting, photography, film making, digital arts and technology. 3/ Contact seminar: 44 representatives of institutions of school education, higher education, vocational education and training and those of the youth sector - no age limit, with an interest in creating and working with new forms of learning. As a result of the project activities: - We created a web platform for sharing of educational resources; - the participants developed their competencies and skills: teamwork and multicultural environment, communication in a foreign language, use of computer applications and programs, cultural competence, learning to learn, social and civic competencies ; - The participants in the seminar made contacts for development of strategic partnerships. All participants validated their skills and qualifications through certification. We’ve gained experience and knowledge in the field of non-formal and in-formal education (with an emphasis on mutual learning). The project contributed more for: - Development of cooperation between youth organizations and public institutions in the partner countries; - Expanding the international dimension of youth and the role of youth workers and organizations as structures complementary EU external action; - Encouraging volunteering and involvement of more young people in it; - Promoting the learning and new forms of learning.
