Almighty dance - wymiana międzykluturowa
Start date: May 1, 2015, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The name of the project is “Almighty Dance”, and can be interpreted both literally and metaphorically. The subject which the youth want to engage in is dance, which breaks the constraints of geography, society, age, and even disability. The project is to show dance in its many aspects – as a form of national and regional identity, as a universal language to enable communication between different nationalities, as well as a platform for all the groups to meet in action and exchange their culture, traditions and customs. It includes a cross-cultural exchange of youths from 3 towns: Pszów (Poland), Horní Benešov (Czech Republic) and Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu (France). It is scheduled for August 15th-26th 2015. The participants will be 30 young people aged 14-16, including 10 French, 10 Czech and 10 Polish, which will be accompanied by two animators from every participating nation. The main project objective is to break down barriers and open up to other cultures, also to achieve personal development and a chance to unite in a common Europe. Specific project objectives are raising the competence level, developing creativity and activity, engaging young people in actions that have an impact on the local community, and creating a feeling of European identity. The main action during the project is familiarizing with various aspects of dance. The participants will teach each other the choreography of Czech, French and Polish dances (which will be chosen earlier by the partners). They will take part in developing a professional bulletin in three languages. The bulletin will be devoted to national dances from the Czech Republic, France and Poland. They will also prepare the show “ALMIGHTY DANCE” in the arts, logistics and technical areas. The performance will be the final, collective effect of the cross-culture youth cooperation. It will be attended by the local community from Pszów and other places. Along with other project activities the youth will be continuously creating a “Almighty dance” mini three-way dictionary, which will certainly make dance rehearsals easier. They will also make a photo stand for pictures of national dance costumes and prepare a photo exhibition, organize a happening for the townspeople of Pszów and will be recording video throughout the exchange period. The material will be released after the exchange is concluded. An important activity will also be common cross-culture evenings and numerous discussions conducted by the young people throughout the duration of the exchange. They will concern dance, including a discussion with the disabled people dance troupe, on breaking down barriers through dance and with senior citizens, which will involve the role of dance and song in senior activity of all 3 participating countries. The most valuable aspect of the exchange is its implementation both through the aforementioned active workshops and informal actions. The whole 30-person group is to stay together in one place. The objective is for each participant to get to know the aspects of everyday life in Poland and other partner countries. The exchange will develop a number of artistic, computers, technical, social, civic and language skills, which will be confirmed by Youthpass certificates. Furthermore, partaking in the exchange will open the participants up to European-scale relations, enable them to gain skills in organization of work, self-reliance, action planning, and will boost their self-confidence. All those features are necessary in the contemporary united European community. The cultural and customs exchange will enable the young people to make easier relations across Europe and accept differences, which are of course a great benefit, not a barrier. The exchange will have numerous positive long-term aspects. It will increase the number of young people with equal opportunities and improved competitiveness on the job market. Their newly acquired skills will make them more qualified to the needs of the European job market. Furthermore, organizing and taking part in the international exchange will improve the young people’s image in the eyes of the local community they come from, and the European initiatives taken by the youth on such a large scale will increase the level of trust towards young people. This project will enable to renew the exchanges, causing an enriching opening up to the cultures of other countries, especially that the exchange happens between countries of Eastern and Western Europe. It will also allow to acquire or develop the skills to organize such exchanges in the future (this is the Polish partner’s first time organizing an Erasmus+ project, the Czech partner has never even taken part in one). Partner relations are certain to endure, which is reflected in our further common youth initiatives, which the partners plan to implement in the coming years. There is already another project, whose implementation is planned for 2016 in the Czech Republic.
