ALMAS - Open and Distance Training Programme for Alternate Labour Market Services Promoters

The aim of the ALMAS project is to provide the network of LMS (Labour Market Service) centres currently being set up in Romania as an alternative to government agencies with the necessary human resources training to serve the requirements of the labour market. The project will develop a training programme for trade union staff, their trainers, representatives and others in the LMS centres who are responsible for promoting pro-active employment policies. A modular training kit will be designed, adapted to group and ODL learning, which can be modified according to trainees' needs. A guidebook will be produced for LMS centre promotion and occupational profiles of the trainees, and a set of ICT tools for training needs analysis. On completion, the results of the project will be disseminated through training sessions to be provided by three regional training centres and targeting trade union personnel, tripartite employment organisations and private companies operating on the labour market.
