PROJECT
FINISHED
Saint-Nazaire Youth Office (France) and Asociación Cultural En Construcción (Avilés, Spain) have been collaborating on youth mobility projects since 2007. This collaboration emerged from the twinning between the two towns and since then five youth exchanges have been held. This project would be the sixth exchange between both organisations and will take place in Avilés between the 22nd and the 30th of July, 2014. The participants are 24 youngsters (14-18 years old) from both towns. They will be accompanied by 5 youth workers and together they will participate in the following activities: cultural visits, excursions, workshops on Erasmus+ and intercultural learning, exchange of knowledge, traditional games, parties, a visit to an urban garden and intercultural cooking.
Three youngsters with socioeconomic and educational difficulties will participate in the project. Through non-formal education methodology, we aim at including every member of the group in all the activities and encourage them to show respect towards cultural diversity. During the project importance will be given to the discovery of each participants' abilities and their sharing with the rest of the group. In order to disseminate the project and give visibility to the Erasmus+ programme two activities are planned: a flashmob in the square of the Niemeyer International Cultural Centre and the painting of a conmemorative graffitti on the wall of the patio of the Youth Service of Avilés.
The participating organisations will have the chance to improve the quality of their activities through the exchange of good practices in local and international youth work and strengthen their partnership. Moreover, this activity will consolidate the links between the twin towns of Saint-Nazaire and Avilés.
