All Voices Against Intolerance and Discrimination
All Voices Against Intolerance and Discrimination
The partnership of 6 countries: Belgium, France, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Poland, is going to launch the project “All VOices against Intolerance and Discrimination” to combat discrimination in general. By using ICT tools, class activities and through project meetings, we aim to make young people of partner countries conscious that the rising incidence of discrimination, intolerance, xenophobic behaviour and expressions of racism is certainly a matter of urgent concern. Therefore all partners strongly believe that intolerance and any act of discrimination and racism should be banned. No matter what difference in habits, culture, religion, colour, race people might have, everybody has to be respected. To reach this goal we want to set up a list of activities in which we want all the participating students to get more and more convinced of this idea and to disseminate their belief to fellow-students, teachers and staff, parents and the local community.During the project we want to concentrate on 3 themes, which are directly related to our ultimate goal “respect for everyone”: intolerance, discrimination and racism. By “intolerance”, we mean impatient with, annoyed by people. By “discrimination” we mean unfair treatment of a person or group and by “race” we mean people’s genetically transmitted physical characteristics. The project will consist out of different activities and products like: presentations, leaflets, booklets, flashmob, intercultural games, protest march, intercultural banquet etc. A website created by students will report on all of these elements. We are also convinced that direct contact between students and teachers is absolutely necessary to strengthen them in their beliefs and disseminate these towards people who are not directly involved.
