PROJECT
FINISHED
“All together for Inclusion” project wants to foster young people’s competences and skills through a linguistic, methodological, musical, theatrical and educational path that aims at enhancing their learning needs by different activities. It is necessary that teachers discover new teaching activities and procedures, because the classical approaches in teaching often create passive learners; while it’s important to engage pupils in order to have them an active role ( Bednar, Coughlin, Evans and Sievers, 2002). According to our opinion, this can be achieved using two important expressive means : Music and Theatre. The context, in which the project “ All together for Inclusion” was born, reflects the strong believe that this theme has to be faced by schools but not always developed enough. All partners agree that the topic of Inclusion, in particular for BES students, isn’t addressed at local level only in fact working in European platform, such as eTwinning, we realize that it is a frequent requirement and more and more National and European associations and/or Agencies are focusing on it. In a world that puts aside individuals on behalf of globalization, where contents are considered of secondary importance compared with rapid skills, our project strongly wants to focus attention on BES students. Students are individuals, they are persons with individual educational learning needs and one of the main educational goals is to find the right teaching process for each student. The European school systems should find proper good solutions in those particular learning processes where there is a disadvantage, a difficulty or a special need. Even the meaning of “special need” had often been debated in order to be classified but it isn’t always classifiable into some common standards. It often happens that a BES student is a problematic one and his/her outcomes don’t get the European required standard because he/she needs a different approach to the content in order to develop the respective competence. On the other hand, the mere role of teaching isn’t either enough therefore we have planned some activities which will foster, encourage and seriously motivate the learning/teaching process. We believe that dyslexic, less motivated, particularly shy, excessively emotional and ADHD students could find their turning point in the achievement of competences throughout Musical and Theatrical activities. Both music and theatre contribute the achievement of language, memory, character, logical, relational and computer skills. The project will involve all BES students in each school.
Our project will study and analyse the inclusion responses of European schools, also assessing the great meaning of differentiated education. So, the project proposes and analysis and an exchange of information relating to the Inclusion strategies amongst the European schools involved. Through a new methodological approach, a multimedial technology, e-learning, mobilities and the use of English language, the partnership aims at reaching considerable results. The adopted approach will be learning by doing, cooperative learning, e-learning, social learning networks like eTwinning, project work and constructivism methodology. The project will be divided into 5 phases corresponding to the Implementation activities planned above:
1.an orientation phase,
2.a development and consolidation phase,
3.the “ carrying out “ phase where students are given different tasks that they will share with their peer,
4.the “ carrying through” phase when teachers implement their inclusion methodology,
5.the “follow-up” phase where students evaluate their experiences with their partners by “ sharing groups”. Throughout sharing and collaborative activities, students will also develop a deep knowledge and respect for the other European cultures, they will acquire personal and human skills and essential competences for personal development and active European citizenship. The results, experiences and products of our project will permanently be introduced into the future and in hand of all educational institutions because the website, the eTwinning platform and the the Erasmus+ platform -a Europe-wide database – will be open and public, increasing the visibility of the project across Europe and facilitating the access to the project information. All materials produced will be permanently available, even after the project conclusion, in its 6 European languages version of all products so they will offer a real opportunity to learn by using our materials. Moreover , the project “ All together for Inclusion” on the eTwinningTwinspace will go on farther, accepting all European partners who want to develop and deepen our main topic – Inclusion.
