The project : Active Teacher-Active Student-Active School will be carried on by Zespol Szkol Ponadgimnazjalnych nr 2 in Kielce in 2016-2017.The project aims at:1. Providing teachers with new professional competences, modern and innovative active methods of teaching.2. Improving their English language skills, using it as a mean of updating knowledge of subjects they teach and strengthening their credibility as a professional teacher.Five teachers of different subjects (two teachers of English, a teacher of ICT, Biology and English, a teacher of Physics and Physical Education, a teacher of Polish ), will take part in five English Language Teacher Training Courses in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. They will be introduced to the new methods and use their new skills to achieve the following aims of the project: 1. Develop a holistic competence-based teaching approach by combining elements of different subject curricula with English (CLIL) and improving interdisciplinary team work.2. Enhancing education, especially Science, reading and writing by making the learning process more attractive (using active methods and introducing informal education). 3. Providing students, especially the disadvantaged ones, with interesting educational offer; broadening their horizons and giving them opportunity to acquire intercultural competencies by sharing the course participants’ experiences.4. Giving the school a European dimension of education. Enabling our students to participate in another partnerships, develop the feeling of unity with other nations, make them citizens of the country as well as Europe by developing social, citizenship and multicultural competencies.A number of products will be created during the project: sets of activities, lesson scenarios, worksheets, a guidebook of active teaching methods, a bilingual dictionary of Mathematics/Science/ICT terms, PowerPoint or Prezi presentations, shared as Creative Commons and Erasmus+ Project Results Platform.Not only will the course participants adopt the new methods and use their new skills when working with students but also they will share them with other teachers during WDN workshops, conferences for teachers from other schools, cooperating with Teachers Training Centre SODMiDN in Kielce. They will organize activities in a non-school setting, workshops or open lessons, Thus the impact of the project will be extended to teachers and students from other schools in the region (approx.2000 people).
