PROJECT
FINISHED
The participants of the project include students of post-secondary Medyczne Studium Zawodowe (Vocational School of Medicine) in Sucha Beskidzka (branch of School of Vocational Training in Katowice), who are trained to become medical guardians, occupational therapists and massage therapists. Three weeks of practice have been scheduled, which will be attended by 1 group of 10 persons, in the city of Cordoba in Spain.Students carry out teaching programmes at the technical college level during full-time and extramural studies. Internships take place in hospitals, nursing homes for people with disabilities and physiotherapy clinics. Students include the unemployed or people professionally active, who are in the process of retraining. Work placement abroad is an opportunity to perfect their vocational skills and to gain new experience. Work placement abroad will ensure the international recognition of their qualifications by describing the competencies that include universal standards, which will in turn increase their mobility on the labour market. Additionally, the project meets the need to explore other cultures, customs and languages, as well as enables students to become more open-minded, gain new life experience and acquire skills that would help them to deal with difficult and unusual situations and circumstances. In these days, it is necessary to improve one`s skills permanently, including the improvement of the educational process. Implementation of the project gives participants the opportunity to develop professional skills and to broaden the scope of competences. The school itself also benefits, since the project allows a comparison of its educational system and the quality of teaching with foreign training institutions. Setting professional practice program, monitoring and evaluation of the project will be an opportunity for self-reflection and the improvement of teaching methods and forms of school operation. Participants of the placement will be confronted with other systems of practical training, which will contribute to the development of their creativity and ability to cope with new or unexpected situations. Certificates and confirmation as well as the description of acquired competences will have a positive influence on participants` self-esteem. Language skills are necessary to move freely in a foreign country. They are also crucial in communication with foreigners in Poland. Participation in work placement abroad will definitively help to improve students’ language skills. The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of vocational training through the development of knowledge and skills of 10 students attending the Non-Public Vocational School of Medicine in Sucha Beskidzka (branch of School of Vocational Training in Katowice), who are trained to become medical guardians, occupational therapists and massage therapists. The project’s objectives are in line with priorities of the Erasmus+ programme, because its aim is to facilitate the mobility of young people through the validation of experience gained abroad, e.g. through the implementation of ECVET system, according to the acquired experience. During the implementation of the previous project, special methods and tools for validation were developed.. This project involves the comparison of educational paths and the manner of validation applied in vocational education in the above-mentioned countries.Expected outcomes of the project are as follows:- Implementation of the European Plan of Development of School of Vocational Training in Katowice (improvement of qualifications of administrative and teaching staff, modification of the curriculum in order to make it relevant to the changing labour market, increasing the diversity of the school in respect of offered internships, increasing the participation of employers in the learning process)- Increasing students’ professional skills that allow an effective performance on the labour market- Issuing certificates to project participants that confirm working as interns, which will ensure the international recognition of qualifications and the transfer of competences- Developing language skills and mobility of project participants.
