Agricultural Training in European Style
Start date: Dec 15, 2014, End date: Dec 14, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project was aimed at the students of the 3rd year of the secondary school and the students of 2nd year of the college. The aim of the project was to realize 12 specialized practical trainings abroad, 3 of them in duration of 180 days and 8 of them in duration of 30 days. The practical trainings abroad continue and deepen practical trainings at school. Regarding the practical training abroad the school management noticed a great interest among the students. We received 30 application forms from our students. Considering financial possibilities of the project budget and our experience from previous years we therefore decided to raise the number of long-term practical trainings to 9. The proposal was sent to the National agency and they agreed on it. During the period from April/May to September/October 2015 (in the main agricultural season) there were 9 students of the college who participated in the practical training abroad. Three students went to Norway; other three students to Great Britain, two students went to Denmark and one student do Austria. In all countries we have had a long lasting collaboration with the chosen farms. The placement of students was organized by the coordinators from our partner schools. The students worked in plant and livestock production on family farms. Their duties varied according to the subject of enterprise of the individual farms. Most often the students performed following activities: taking care of cattle (feeding, milking, cleaning), taking care of horses, field work, growing vegetables, working with agricultural machinery and others. During the period from July to August 3rd year the students set off abroad for their 30-day- long practical training. One student from the Natural science lyceum and two Veterinary nursing students were in Great Britain, one Agriculture student and two Veterinary nursing students were in Norway, one Agriculture student and one Veterinary nursing student were in Denmark. The students worked mainly in livestock production – breeding cattle (feeding, milking, and cleaning), breeding pigs (feeding, cleaning) and breeding horses (feeding, cleaning, and riding). They also carried out other activities connected to the running of a farm. The practical trainings took place within the given time, thus in the main agricultural season and the placements corresponded to the study specialization of individual students. After returning home the students created and handed in the practice diary containing some documenting photographs. The students received the written assessments from the accepting organization and they shall be ceremonially given the certificate Europass Mobility in June. The project results correspond to the original intentions.
