The evaluation meeting “Age matters – evaluation of the EVS educational framework” will bring together youth workers and volunteers from EFIL/AFS network in order to evaluate on the current situation of EVSin AFS, in regards to the preparation and support, as well as the cooperation with the National Agencies. The goal is to develop strategies and concepts that will improve future cooperation and encourage organisations to increase EVS programmes. The event will take place in Turkey (tentatively Sile) and will involve 16 participants, 4 facilitators and 1 support from 9 European countries. EFIL, as the applicant organisation, will co-ordinate all the project activities; however the hosting role will be played by its Member Organisation, AFS Turkey.During the 4-day programme participants will share current EVS procedures and the scope of EVS. Participants will reflect on the changes done since 2009 when a feasibility visit (YiA-supported) took place. The core part of the programme will evaluate preparation, support, the intercultural learning (ICL) approach within EVS, cooperation with National Agencies, funding and PR. Finally participants will work out further concepts and strategies for a better cooperation and decide on how to follow-up on this meeting. At the same time participants will reflect on volunteering, ICL and European identity which will contribute to their personal development. Through interactive participatory methods and peer learning, the competence existing among participants and their organisations will be explored. Continuous evaluation will be a part of each project phase, ensuring its quality and compliance with objectives and expectations.As key multipliers in their countries, participants will pass knowledge onto their peer volunteers who will be involved in implementing the outcomes. The outcomes of the project will thus benefit a great number of EVSers and other young Europeans involved directly and indirectly in exchange organisations.
