Addicted to Life
Start date: Jun 1, 2016,
End date: Aug 31, 2016
PROJECT
FINISHED
„Addicted to life” is a youth exchange considering modern day addictions, spare time activities, sports, health and culture. It deals with how inventions like computers, game consoles and mobile phones shaped our lives and how globalization affected our up-bringing in the first place. We would like to find out how Europeanisation changed our traditions and means of life, while discovering its positive and negative effects. We will talk about how media controls our peers and us. At the end of the project we would like to set a common goal: to take our lives in our hands. During the exchange we will work with experienced youth trainers and enthusiastic volunteers. Our participants will be between the ages of 18 and 25, preferably with a leader of the same age group. We will also try to achieve gender balance, so our outcomes will reflect reality, as we will prepare different surveys during the project period. We will invite 6 people from each country: Portugal, Malta, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Each day will be devoted to one topic, such as sports, addictions, culture, etc. We will use non-formal teaching methods to get the best possible results. Our participants will have the chance to share their experiences in each field, to widen our horizons about their own national treasures, and to learn about themselves in the process. Our activities will include creative and artistic workshops, intercultural discussions, tasks for self-reflection, sports like canoeing and capoeira, city games, project planning and many more.“Addicted to life” will take place in Velence, which is an ideal place for such a project. The participants will arrive to Hungary on the 25th of June and depart on the 3rd of July. Before and after the exchange they will be tasked with different activities which will include open days for the public, surveying at home, preparing presentations, etc. This way we would like to ensure that each of us will come prepared and will leave with even more information to give. Due to the shortness of time we will not organize an Advance Panning Visit, instead we will communicate through e-mails and we will hold Skype conferences several times every week.
