This project was diverse in terms of partner consortium and volunteer activities that are planned. Nevertheless, it addressed several common issues and shared common objectives. First and foremost it was part of the ongoing initiative to educate youth (participants directly involved in the activities and those indirectly exposed to at the local communities) giving them a chance to improve their personal/professional competences through volunteering abroad. This setting created parallel benefits of raising volunteering awareness in the local communities and providing actual help for the receiving organizations (services diversification, news communication and cultural learning opportunities. The above mentioned key areas constituted a wider need for a society which is more open, tolerant, active and engaging. To sum up, these were the main objectives:
* To give volunteers a framework and structure to learn and progress improving various competences in a non-formal education setting
* Provide assistance to the receiving organizations and their target groups in the form of actual help, diversified services, communication and cultural interaction.
* Raise awareness of volunteering and active citizenship in the local communities.
