The project ,,Active volunteers better citizens" is a multilateral youth exchange which will be implemented between 1 and 8 of June 2015 and will gather 36 youngsters from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Latvia and Estonia. Some of those youngsters are with fewer opportunities- facing geographical and economical obstacles. The project proposal is a result of the coordinating and the partner organizations experience in the youth field at the everyday problems they are facing- lack of information, lack of willingness to participate in volunteering activities and lack of awareness of volunteering's values as well as well as not understanding the concept of European citizenship and it's rights coming along. In this context the main aim of the project is to stimulate young Europeans willingness to become active citizens as well as to provide them with a platform to realize the meaning and the values of volunteering and the European citizenship concept. The project proposal is fully based on non formal education methodology. Some of the proposed activities are -working groups, flashmob, volunteers theatre, interactive presentations. As a result of the project there will be video, newspaper, logo, booklet for young European citizens. Those products will be used for promotion of the project and it's long term effect among the youngsters from the participating countries. The project will encourage tolerance, solidarity and adherence to European values. More over we expect to encourage their sense of initiative as well as for them to look for more opportunities to express their active citizenship. The participants will improve their social, communicative and language skills as well as competences for working in intercultural environment. In a long term perspective we believe the project will increase the cooperation between the partner organizations in the youth field and for stimulating active youth participation and active European citizenship.
