The project called Across the Border is focusing on nature conservation and empowering local youth and local community in the city of Esso (Kamchatka, Russia), the area isolated from the rest of the world. It deals with the protection of local unspoilt countryside, working for a national park, marking hiking trails, preparation of tour guides. During the six months of the project volunteer from Czech republic will also help with the promotion of Nature park as well as with internet literacy of local citizens. One of the points of the project is to improve the situation of waste management in the region. Furthermore, the project also deals with intercultural dialogue as the local community is composed of many different ethnic groups. The project will also aim to work with local children, their active involvement in local organizations and puublic life and help with their language learning.
The project objectives are:
• Improve local situation of waste management, particularly by involvement of the local people
• Create a park guide, its visibility on the internet, mapping and tagging areas
• Work with local children, their involvement in local organizations, language training
