The EVS project "Access culture" lasted for one year (1. 2. 2015-1. 2. 2016) and involved one volunteer from Zagreb, Croatia. All the activities of the project took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The main aim of the project was to promote and establish link between young artists and contemporary art scene and develop a dialogue and collaboration between local and international cultural institutions. The project‘s program included preparation of exhibitions, developing and helping with the program, creating workshops, organizing educational events and focusing on sharing and promoting contemporary art. The volunteer had the opportunity to deepen her knowledge and understanding of art concepts, improve communication and interpersonal/social skills, enhance leadership and organizational skills, increase creativity, improve her information literacy and other skills associated with learning by doing.
The role and tasks of the volunteer were:
- Project planning and managing in the central office.
- Event planning in ŠKUC gallery. The volunteer learned how to plan a project in a contemporary art gallery.
- Youth information services in Info ŠKUC. The volunteer was engaged in the regular activities of the centre: support in managing the daily tasks, presentation of the EVS programme and Erasmus+, organization of free workshops and seminars related to youth information.
The working method were based on non-formal learning, individual and group work, discussions, learning by doing, sharing and developing of her own initiatives for the local youth. The working approach was adaptive, according to needs and requirements of the specific task at hand.
