ABC OF INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE–ACT,BELONG & CARING

The project consists in a training course that will be hosted by Roma Active Albania in Durres, Albania on February 3d – 10th, 2012. It will gather 30 participants from 15 countries, aged 18 to 30 years old.The training will have three main fronts:- exploring the concept of culture diversity and the effect that this diversity has in the life of thousand of European citizens;- promotion of intercultural dialogue as a necessity and a tool for improving our multicultural societies;- would be improving competence (skills, knowledge) to participants how they can take action in different level using voluntaryism and youth campaigns.The objectives are;To explore European values such as the notion of cultural diversity, active support for culture, relationship among minorities and majoritiesTo promote culture diversity as a recourse for our society and stress its positive sides To promote intercultural dialogue and ICL as a necessity for our society through voluntaryism To identify main actors who play a crucial role and can contribute in fostering intercultural dialogue To facilitate the process of intercultural learning of participants in youth fieldTo give concrete tools how to run a youth campaign and through voluntarism in different level adaptable to different contextsTo promote non formal education as an appropriate methodology for youth work Promoting YIA as a tool for active citizenship and participation in social life of young peopleDuring the project we will explore key elements that refer to cultural diversity such as: backgrounds, identity, nationality, religion and beliefs, living contexts, tensions, cultural sensitivity, prejudices and stereotypes.The methodology will be based in intercultural learning using non formal education. Learning process is based in learning cycle of Kolb. Participants will be involved in each stage of the project. They will present their country during the Intercultural Evening, where they can learn on other cultures.
