A new learning arena

A Revolution is happening in the way students learn.The revolution is that technology makes everything you want to learn available to you, both in and outside the classroom. Suddenly students are in charge of their own learning and they can deal with all kinds of information as they deem necessary.Based on present and future needs, the partners believe that institutional education will benefit by adding a high degree of innovative and digital teaching/learning concepts/methods. The goals of the project are: - To collect national experiences of adult learning, selvdirected learning and cooperative learning strategies from 5 participating countries and share them on three consecutive partnership meetings with the aim of achieving a better understanding of the whole area.- After 8 months of project work to identify common features and differences to such an extent that the knowledge can be translated into more general concepts, which the partners produces and evaluates- After 12 months of project work to translate the knowledge gained into specific teaching / learning process in the participants 'own classes and within the partners' own field- To use a common evaluation method to analyze the results of the individual experiments- After 17 months of project work to be able to describe and demonstrate applications of the pedagogical main elements at national multiplier events- During the entire project to establish and maintain communication with partners' professional networks via webblog and a continuous sharing of information via the Internet and social mediaThe partners represents adult and vocal training centers.The partners have a good knowledge of each other, partly by being together through the days of the workshop “The Challenge of Teaching Entrepreneurship in Education and Training” in Copenhagen and through following e-mail conversations. The partners represent 5 countries and consist of 7 persons.The profiles of the participants are:- Iceland contributes with experience within the area of using IT for vocational training in a partly “self-directed”-learning environment and the Iceland participant, Ivar Valbergsson, leads development of robot- and engine simulations as part of his teaching methods. Iceland will contribute with knowhow of "partly selfdirected learning processes".- Spain will bear the evaluation process of the research part of the project and the evaluation of the project itself.- Portugal contributes with experience of Vocational Education. The Portuguese partner is a 25 year-old VET school, which integrates in the teaching process of new technologies construction of a robot to participate in national and international Robotics competitions.-Italy A Rocca, Artistical and Cultural organization would bear the part related to the dissemination of the project. The organisation through EProjectConsult, its international department has a great experience in the dissemination and evaluation of European projects. - Greenland has a vast experience with distance learning and technology used as part of training because of the geografical situation in Greenland with isolated cities and tough weather conditions. The Greenland partner, Kaaka Lund is teacher and project manager of an Greenland-Iceland app-development programme and Greenland will bear the it-platform related subjects.During the timeline of the project the partners will use and share different methodological approaches, based on their different competencies - Project management and implementation will be based on a simplified PRINCE2 model.- For continuous objective and defining development goals, a SMART model will be used- The planned evaluation methods the allow us etablere teaching methodologies based on evidence.- Knowledge sharing methods will be based on extensive use of the Internet and social mediaThe parties expect that the project's goals and knowledge products combined with an OER-sharing attitude will create interest and inspire many colleagues in the partner's national network, but also outside the national borders.The partner's intentions are to create great interest in the problem that the project has as a starting point and thereby initiate a continued co-development of concepts and materials that meet the increased demands of creating life-long learning and greater commitment among adult learners within the European community.
