Project title: Our school for the futurePeriod: 24 months (1 June 2016 – 31 May 2018)Context/Background: the needs of the management and staff of our independent secondary school, Közgazdasági Politechnikum: to discover and adapt innovative European educational strategies and methods based on active and productive learning.Ojectives:• developing professional, linguistic and intercultural skills and competences at trainings also including school visits and lesson observations, discovering and adapting good practices of countries leading European educational innovation;• developing English language skills of selected staff members to level B1-B2;• discovering and adapting good practices of other European schools at job shadowing;• disseminating innovations among other staff members at school and other Hungarian schools.Number and profile of participants: 22 staff members: - 4 school leaders, 16 teachers (mostly with at least 5 years of practice, among them our special education teacher and a colleague responsible for family care and child protection), 2 other staff members (secretary responsible for matters of our maintainer, financial manager).Description of activities1. Preparation – selecting and preparing colleagues for mobilities, finding partner schools and training institutes (already fulfilled), organizing mobilities – practical issues.2. ImplementationA/ Training activities• English language courses - 5 pax - United Kingdom;• school management – 4 pax - United Kingdom, Finnland;• science education – 2 pax – Finnland;• art education – 4 pax – Italy, Spain;• inclusion of children with special educational needs – 1 pax – United Kingdom;• parents & teachers: building bridges – 1 pax – Spain;• use of new ICT tools – 3 pax – Germany, Malta;• intercultural communication – 1 pax – Greece;• new learning environments – 1 pax – Finnland;• collaborative learning in maths – 1 pax – Finnland.B/ Job-shadowing• LYCEE PILOTE INNOVANT INTERNATIONAL: interdisciplinary projects/lessons; using ICT tools at lessons and in project work; mentoring and assessing students – 1 pax- France;• Beşiktaş Atatürk Anadolu Lisesi: giving different tasks at foreign language lessons; using ICT tools – tablets - at lessons and in international projects; – 1 pax - Turkey;• Farstrup Skole: modern ICT tools – iPad, chromebook – in the classrom, lessons outside the classroom, „Haver til maver” – „From garden to stomach” programme – 2 pax- Denmark.3. Final Steps – reports of participants, dissemination within staff, adapting and including innovations into school documents, dissemination of results with other schools, project evaluation.Results expected• commitment, intercultural and professional competences, international relationships of management and staff will develop,• new European strategies of educational development, innovative methods, programmes and good practices will be adapted and built into school practice and documents;• these innovations will be taken by other Hungarian schools as well.Short term impact:• participants’ management/teaching practices will renew, making them the driving force of school innovation;• innovation will flourish in our school, new teaching materials and moduls, alternative programmes will be produced.Long term impact:• as a result the participants’ professional careers will develop;• the school will attract an increasing number of students;• being part of an international European network, the school will be involved in more European projects.
