The project "A city from my dreams" will take place in Nasutów (near Lublin) between 18th and 24th of July 2015. The exchange is designed to people at age 18-25 years old, who aren’t professionals and are interested in the topic of architecture and city planning. In the project will participate people from Poland, Germany, Turkey and Romania (each national group should be made of 4 participants and 1 youth leader).
2014 is a Year of Jan Gehl in Lublin. He is a Danish architect and urban designer. The main idea of this project is aimed at getting knowledge about his vision of “Cities for People” and ephemeral landscape architecture and also at getting skills at using the 3D modelling program SketchUp. Moreover, we will attempt to help participants to overcome shyness, become more open-minded and gain more self-confidence especially in communicating in foreign languages. We would like also to diminish cultural distance by getting to know each other better. All activities will be conducted with non-formal and informal learning methodologies.
Our goal will be reached mainly by organizing discussions, practical sessions and workshops with experts. Theoretical background gained during the sessions will be used to create an ephemeral happening in the city centre. During the SketchUp workshops participants will create a part of city from their dreams connected with idea of “Cities for People”. Effects of common work will be presented at the local universities and in the media.
