New horizons for the visually impaired : The project is bridging the gap for accessible IT training programmes for the visually impaired, particularly those above a certain age. The target group generally finished their formal education before IT was widely used and thus have limited knowledge of the subject. This project started in 2000 and lasted 40 months.

The project aims at( 1) spreading information about the needs for training of visually impaired people in the different countries of the partnership; (2) developing new e-Learning courses integrating speech and appropriate tools for the target group as well as modifying the existing ones in order to make them accessible; (3) making VET institutions aware of the conditions required for participatio ...
