The strategies of teaching and learning with CLIL and technology integration to class situations through 21st century methodologies
Considering students’ after graduation equipments and incomes their lackings have been determined by SWOT analyze.Therefore our teachers have planned such a project to improve themselves and to increase total quality.
When education programmes and contents are examined different methods and techniques have to be used to be understood by the students.With this projects we have been planning how to give effective and static education through teacher training courses to realise class management and to be more successful in communicating with students. While doing this project learning through CLIL, learning, doing and living and technology based methods and techniques used.The cultural exchange will be fulfilled.
Self –confidence in students expressing themselves correctly and effectively building emphaty and getting active learning skills are aimed. Thus the interests and behaviours of the students to school and subjects will improve positively. The young, active open to learning and innovations idealist and successful in foreign language and communications have taken place in this project.
To create more successful learning situations to have experience in foreign language and professional language and to train qualified individuals who can make emphaty and trust and express themselves better having 21st century skills by getting professional knowledge and skills international level in foreign language have been aimed. It is considered that it will be suitable to make a ‘7 people’ participations to improve our project effectively and to reach branch and professional teachers in the province and county when we complete teacher training courses .By forming practice classroom methods and techniques followed .The foreign language knowledge of the students will reach to high aimed degree.
In our school the proposal of CLIL methodology answers to the necessity to combine communicative and disciplinary competence. The introduction of a subject from "expositive",that's abstract and decontestualized, to "experencial", that's based on concrete experience, makes it more comprehensible to students and ties the language meaning to the real experience.
The language will be adapted to the students' age and introduced throughout ICT or websites for children where the language will be simple and fascinating. This is a new challenge for the English teachers because they can re-formulate the discplinary and linguistic objectives and conducing a class using new resources and new opportunities as the e-learning, the web and the new technologies. The teachers will apply a pragmatic and re-active approach to the language learning, involving students in proposals of interesting cross-curricular arguments.
This multicultural approach can offer lots of benefits:
*develop knowledge and understanding among young people and educational staff concerning the diversity of European cultures and languages and its value through studying and experiencing each others culture;
*increase communication in English and other common languages spoken by students or teachers;
*enhance the awareness of the importance of foreign languages and foster the motivation for learning them;
*help young people acquiring basic life-skills and competences necessary for their personal development, for future employment and for active European citizenship (lifelong learning);
*support the development of innovative ICT-based tools, pedagogies and practices for lifelong learning;
*enhance the European dimension in our schools and communities;
provide learning opportunities for pupils of all social and cultural backgrounds with different capabilities;
*work together, communicate, meet, speak and exchange ideas;
During the project we can develop our skills like innovation,research, problem solving, cooperating, empathy, creativity, ICT. They are necessary as project values.
We can reach different impacts during the project like open minds, acceptance,working together, positiveness. Both the standard and the rate of further education of the school is going to rise in long term. Through studies on traditions of different cultures, we can contribute to reduce stereotypes and to get a deeper understanding of the cultural identities of other European countries
Some of the end-products we will produce during the project will be posters, cards, power-point presentations, a multilingual vocabulary, a website, a booklet, DVDs etc. The dissemination of the project will be via project website, school websites, exhibitions, booklets, DVDs, articles on local press, Erasmus Corners at school ,etc. The impact will be positive and long-lasting on the participating organisations in the school.Questionnaires, discussions & conferences at school will be the means of evaluation.
