School Smart School in Zamość is a young institution, but already involved in teaching CLIL . At school, the foundation of education and training is multi-faceted and promotes the comprehensive development of children based on the Theory of Multiple Intelligences by Howard Gardner . In this context, the school was interested in the use of more efficient , European solutions and ways to prevent school failure and difficulties with which the student meets . Acquired aims: - Using the latest achievements in the field of methodology of teaching foreign languages - Increasing the European Dimension of the school, cooperation with other schools and sharing experiences - Increasing knowledge and the abilities in the field of using European methods increasing students’ motivation and the willingness to learn / acquiring better results - Increasing knowledge and the scope of using European methods and tools counteracting school difficulties, individualizing the teaching process and supporting gifted students. - Improving the school management system of Smart School in Zamość The following participants took part in the project: A. Smart School teachers already working in the system of bilingual education , who are qualified to teach the early childhood and preschool education and have qualifications to teach English -6 people. B. Smart School teachers working in the school , who do not have education in teaching the English language - 6 people. C. Management of Smart School in Zamość , which has experience in teaching integrated education, however, need to supplement the knowledge and experience of the education systems of other countries - 2 persons . 1. Training of Smart School staff abroad for teachers already working in the system of bilingual education : 6 people , total number of days: 84 days. The training took place between the hours of 9.00-16.00 . The training included the following modules : •Improving personal English Language skills and confidence in lesson delivery •Acquiring the language and vocabulary necessary to deliver a range of subject based lessons in English •Study in depth the role of language and language development in a CLIL context •Gaining insights into integration of both new and traditional strategies and the 8 Key Competences •Developing Cultural Consciousness •Better Knowledge on Erasmus+ potential for your own and others’ professional development Results : Training for teachers was the only chance to learn about the theory and get familiar in practice with the methods of carrying out bilingual education in other, much more advanced in this type of education , training institutions in Europe. 2. Training of Smart School staff abroad for teachers who do not possess the qualifications in bilingual education : 6 people , total number of days: 84 days. The training took place between the hours of 9.00-16.00 . The training included the following modules : •Improving personal English language skills: fluency, accuracy and authenticity •Improving confidence in using the language •Developing communicative skills •Improving language skills for teaching •Knowledge on other European Systems of Education •Learning teaching techniques to improve students’ motivation •Developing Cultural Consciousness •Teamwork and Interpersonal Abilities •Better Knowledge on Erasmus+ potential for your own and others’ professional development Results : Due to training teachers developed their communication skills in English so as to be able to provide the introduction to bilingual education for pupils of Smart School. These teachers feel more comfortable in communicating in English with their students and it is additional motivation for them to acquire formal training for the instruction in the English language , or acquire a variety of certificates confirming the knowledge of English in the future. 3. Training the management team of Smart School in Zamość : two people, a total of 6 days. The training included the following modules : •Gaining knowledge of UK Education and other European Systems of Education •Sharing of Best Practice •Initiating and sustaining International Collaboration •Better Knowledge on Erasmus+ potential for your own and others’ professional development •Improving personal English language skills •Developing Cultural Consciousness Results : Because of training the managerial staff was acquainted with the systems of education offered by the other member states of the European Union so as to be support for the mobility of students , pupils and school staff . Training was the basis for organizational changes already introduced in the school year 2016/2017 ( e.g. Smart Planner - annual calendar and organizational aid for each student and creating a function of coordinators - see Point 4 and 9 for more information).
