The Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée (UPEM) has been willing to continue to take part in the
?Mobility for Higher Education students and staff? programme , during the academic year 2014/15. This programme is the base for cooperation between higher education institutions and is governed by the principles of the Erasmus Charter for Higher education.
The engagement on this programme has represented over several years and still today, a lever pursuing the attractiveness as well as the goals of internationalisation of the university (in regard to its function, academic courses, in respect of teaching and administrative staff,
students etc..), to contribute in enhancing the quality of the courses through mobility, to strengthen the ties between universities and companies, to encourage equality of access to inter-European mobility by giving financial support to 90 students on mobility for studies or on mobility for traineeship in 2014/2015.
Mobility for studies and for traineeship are both included in the academic curriculum of the students and are consistent with the objectives related to their courses and their personal development, in particular for their integration into the labour market ( through the improvement of qualifications, skills and knowledge).
The ?Mobility for Higher Education students and staff? programme, has permitted mobility abroad for teaching or training purposes for 8 members of the academic and administrative staff. Staff mobility (teaching and training) aims on one hand to promote the exchange of skills and on the other hand to reinforce the bi-lateral Erasmus + partnerships and in particular in the case of teaching mobility?s to facilitate and improve the organisation of student exchanges.
Furthermore, the envelope allocated to the organization of mobility has enabled to support the organisation of new Erasmus+ partnerships in Europe, to promote information and give assistance to incoming and outgoing students (e.g through publication of brochures), to contribute financially to the cultural and linguistic programmmes and activities prepared for incoming students on their arrival at UPEM etc.
UPEM would like to continue to build on the reputation of the Erasmus+ programme for the promotion of intra and extra-European exchanges in order to increase the number of incoming and outgoing exchanges for students and staff, while closely applying the principles of Erasmus+ mobility, including for exchanges organised outside of the programme.
